Wednesday night we did it - armed with our copy of Baby Bargains (thanks Momma Jane) and the assistance of my Mom - we went to Babies R Us and started our baby registry. Thankfully we were able to prepare with a delicious meal from Culver's. Not only was the Butter Burger amazing - it was a great appetizer for a Reese's Pieces Concrete Mixer. Yummy.

I was really expecting the worst - but it actually wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I don't know if it was the ice cream or that I had read through Baby Bargains many many times - but we didn't have too hard of a time picking things out. Granted - we've yet to tackle the nursery (furniture, bedding, etc.), but I think we got a good start on everything else.

Aside from registering - we've been playing the name game around the clock. Thanks to Abby we've considered a LOT of names...and finally feel like we're getting somewhere - as in we've got a small list of names that neither of us strongly dislike. Names are not easy!

20 week ultrasound

We are so excited to start preparing for our baby boy! But my goodness - it sure is difficult coming up with a name. I have a feeling this will take us a while. Well - hopefully no longer than 19 weeks. :)

The ultrasound was awesome - it was so cool to see him! His heartrate was 140 bpm and he weighed about 10 oz. His head was up around my belly button and his feet were down on my bladder (which was quite full). Because of the way he was situated, the ultrasonogpher couldn't get the picture that she needed of the heart so we'll get to see the little guy at our next appointment too. They said everything looked perfect!

Here's a look at his face:

You can see how his legs were stretched out - enjoying the room while he's got it:

His feet:

A view of his arm (and his head to the left):

Another side view - from left to right his head, body and legs:

When we were looking at his face he moved his arms up - so here's a good view of his arm/hand:

The Big Day!

Today was the big day! The day of our ultrasound where we would find out if we were having a boy or girl!

Here is a short video of us walking into the Hospital for our appointment.

Personal Growth

As I mentioned in the Big Day post...baby Clark has been growing. And in case you won't take my word for it...here is your proof.
at 12 weeks:

at 20 weeks:
And there is no doubt about it - Saturday, February 13th is the day that my belly "popped." So aside from going back to school - I am experiencing all kinds of personal growth.

Tomorrow is the big day!

Well one of the many big days that are yet to come for Chris and I. :)

Tomorrow we have our 20 week appointment and will have the pleasure of seeing Baby Clark. By the looks of my belly - this baby has grown quite a bit since our last ultrasound in November. And assuming that our little one cooperates we are planning to learn if we'll be expecting a bundle of pink or blue. One thing that we are going to do that is a little different is that we are going to ask the ultrasonographer to write down the sex of the baby in a card and seal it up instead of sharing the news while we are there. We plan on going out to eat tomorrow evening and opening the card together then. I just hope the lady at the doctor's office seals the envelope good...because I know we will be tempted (mental note...bring tape to dr. office).

So - the reason I am writing is Chris and I are curious to see what you all think - will we be seeing pink or blue? Take our poll and/or post a comment to let us know your guess.
